16 Caffeine-Free Starbucks Beverages

If you want to get a caffeine-free drink from Starbucks, it might be a bit tempting to order, say, a decaf latte. Nevertheless, you should know that decaffeinated coffee does contain some caffeine too.

For example, the Starbucks decaf Pike Place Roast contains 15 mg of caffeine in a short cup and 30 mg in a venti. So if you aren’t just looking for a drink with low caffeine content, but rather one that has no caffeine at all, you’ll likely find my cheat sheet useful.

Some tea drinks do contain caffeine as well. Such beverages contain either green, black, or matcha green tea. So make sure you stay away from them if you want 0 milligrams of caffeine in your cup.

I made sure to include a basic description of each entry to make your choice easier, so bookmark this page for further references.

With that being said, here are 16 caffeine-free Starbucks drinks:

1. Mint Majesty Herbal Tea

Mint Majesty is a Starbucks herbal tea that contains no coffee or caffeine whatsoever.

As you might’ve guessed it’s a mint tea, but along with the fresh minty flavors, you will be able to sense lemony notes, coming from a pinch of lemon verbena.

This results in a delightful hot drink that is served in either a short (8 fl oz), a tall (12 fl oz), a grande (16 fl oz), or a venti (20 fl oz) cup.

If you like your tea sweet you can order a couple of honey packets on the side and add them to your delicious caffeine-free Starbucks tea.

It’s also worth noting that not only does the Mint Majesty tea (along with Peach Tranquility) have no caffeine, but it’s also with a low-calorie content (according to the Starbucks website a large venti cup contains 0 calories).

2. Peach Tranquility – Starbucks Herbal Tea

Peach Tranquility is a non-caffeinated Starbucks hot tea that is somewhat sweeter than the aforementioned Mint Majesty tea.

It’s made with an infusion of chamomile blossoms, peach pieces, lemon verbena, rosehip peels, and candied pineapple pieces.

Unlike strong coffee drinks that might make you jittery, the soothing Peach Tranquility tea will help you relax and enjoy the moment.

3. Pistachio Crème Frappuccino

The Pistachio Crème Frap is ideal for those who feel like having a sweet and flavorful dessert-like drink that is 100% free of caffeine.

This Starbucks barista mixes pistachio sauce, milk, and ice cubes into a blender, which results in a satisfying drink with a creamy texture.

The Pistachio Crème Frappuccino is topped off with whipped cream and salted brown butter topping. The latter adds both sweet and salty flavors to the drink and contributes to its complexity and deliciousness.

4. White Hot Chocolate

If you’re looking to have a cup of hot chocolate at Starbucks, bear in mind that the only caffeine-free option you have is the White Hot chocolate.

Some of you might not be aware, but dark chocolate contains caffeine, because of its cocoa solids (the darker the chocolate, the more caffeinated it is). A pump of Starbucks’ dark chocolate sauce contains 5 to 7 mg of caffeine.

White chocolate, on the other hand, is made with cocoa butter, which contains no caffeine whatsoever.

With that being said, the amount of caffeine, found in hot chocolate drinks is relatively low. According to the Starbucks Website, a short/kids cup of dark hot chocolate contains 15 mg of this bioactive compound, a tall contains 20 mg, a grande – 25 mg, and a venti – 35 mg of caffeine.

This means that if you want to completely stay away from caffeine you should go for the White Hot Chocolate.

On the other hand, if you’re in search of a low-on-caffeine Starbucks drink – a classic dark hot chocolate is a great alternative.

These drinks are sweet, creamy, made with steamed and frothed milk, and topped off with whipped cream.

5. Caramel Apple Spice

The Caramel Apple Spice is another caffeine-free drink that’s made with steamed apple juice and cinnamon syrup.

It’s topped with whipped cream and caramel drizzle.

All of its components complement each other well, which results in a tasty beverage.

The Caramel Apple Spice is also great for those of you who want to have a cozy hot Starbucks drink.

6. Steamed Apple Juice

It’s not surprising that the Starbucks steamed apple juice isn’t caffeinated. After all, it’s made with 100% apple juice.

It’s a simple 1 ingredient drink, but as someone once said – perfection lies in simplicity.

7. Steamed Milk

If you’re at Starbucks and you need a drink that won’t add up to your caffeine intake for the day – why don’t you order a cup of steamed milk?

You can opt for 1 %, 2 %, almond, coconut, a breve, whole milk, soy milk or nonfat milk.

If there’s a syrup that you enjoy having – ask for a couple of pumps of it. The cool thing about Starbucks is that you can tweak the original drink’s recipe according to your taste.

So craft your own delicious non-caffeinated Starbucks drink by adding whatever toppings and flavors you want to your steamed milk and share in the comments below what you’ve come up with.

8. Vanilla Crème

The Vanilla Crème is another Starbucks drink that contains neither espresso, brewed coffee, nor caffeine, for that matter.

It’s warm and delicious, made with frothy steamed milk, vanilla syrup, and topped off with whipped cream.

Overall, you should go for a Vanilla Crème if you need a smooth and warm sweet drink.

9. Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino

The Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino is made without coffee and therefore contains no caffeine.

To be fair, all frappuccinos from the Crème line, don’t have a coffee component.

Nevertheless, there are the Matcha Green Tea and Chai Crème Frappuccinos, which are caffeinated, because of the tea component.

Even though in small amounts, the Chocolate Cookie Crumble and Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccinos also contain caffeine because of the chocolate ingredient.

Caramel Ribbon Crunch Crème Frappuccino is a completely non-caffeinated chilly Starbucks beverage and it’s made with blended whole milk, ice, and caramel syrup.

he drink is topped off with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, and a caramel crunch topping. All of this makes this Starbucks drink truly delicious.

10. Strawberry Frappuccino

The Strawberry Frappuccino is definitely one of the best caffeine-free Starbucks drinks and also one of my personal favorites.

This was the only non-caffeinated Starbucks beverage my sister enjoyed having when she was pregnant. No wonder my niece loves it too.

To be fair, I don’t know a single person that doesn’t like this fruity sweet drink.

It’s made with the crème Frappuccino base, strawberry puree, ice, and whole milk with whipped cream on top. It’s one of the best-sellers which is why it’s never taken off the Starbucks menu.

11. Vanilla Bean Crème Frappuccino

Another one of the Crème Frappuccino blended beverages without coffee is the one made with vanilla bean powder.

If you love vanilla flavoring this one is for you.

The blended flavored milk is topped off with whipped cream. You can make the drink’s texture even creamier if you order it “breve”.

12. White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino

As I mentioned, if you opt for a white chocolate drink without coffee at Starbucks, it’s going to be free of caffeine.

This is the case with the White Chocolate Crème Frappuccino, which contains 0 mg of caffeine.

In comparison, the Double Chocolaty Chip Crème Frappuccino contains 20 mg of caffeine in a venti cup.

The amount is still small, so feel free to opt for the darker version if you’re not aiming to get a completely non-caffeinated Starbucks drink.

13. Iced Passion Tango Tea

The Iced Passion Tango Tea is a sweetened tea without caffeine that’s been hand-shaken with ice.

You will get to enjoy the infusion of hibiscus, apple, and lemongrass that can refresh you in no time on a hot summer day.

This is actually a good alternative to those pink Starbucks Refreshers whose caffeine content varies between 35 (tall) and 90 mg (Trenta) per cup.

Furthermore, you order your Passion Tango tea with sugar-free syrup and heavy cream you’ll get a keto iced drink that’s exceptionally tasty.

14. Iced Passion Tango Tea Lemonade

I personally prefer the Iced Passion Tango Tea with Lemonade, as it’s enhanced with citrusy freshness.

Mind that its flavor is capable of energizing you pretty well (as well as the sugar it contains).

15. Lemonade

Did you know that you can order a classic Lemonade at Starbucks? I didn’t, but when I was looking for caffeine-free entries for this list I found this evergreen on their menu.

Iced Lemonade is all I need on those days when I try to reset my tolerance by quitting caffeine for a week or so.

The Lemonade is very energizing and immediately picks you up mentally.

I love the sweet and sour taste, though at Starbucks they seem to always make their drinks sweeter than how I’d like them to be.

16. Blended Strawberry Lemonade

This is another one of the best caffeine-free Starbucks beverages that you can enjoy if you’re trying to lower your caffeine consumption.

The Blended Strawberry Lemonade is made by blending strawberry puree sauce with iced lemonade. This drink is pretty similar to a Frappuccino, as it also contains the Frappuccino creme base I mentioned earlier. It makes the drink thicker and quite enjoyable.

It’s also worth mentioning that the Strawberry Frappuccino contains twice as many calories (370 kcal in a grande cup) compared to the Blended Strawberry lemonade (190 kcal in a grande cup).

So if you’re looking for a low-calorie iced Starbucks drink that is also free of caffeine, the Blended Strawberry Lemonade is definitely the one for you.

Over to you

Now that you are aware there are quite a few non-caffeinated drinks at Starbucks, you can switch things up by opting for one of the beverages on the list.

Don’t forget that you can make adjustments to the original recipe by switching the whole milk with a dairy-free alternative like coconut or almondmilk.

You can also decrease the calorie content by ordering your cup with sugar-free syrup. This can be a great option for those who’re on a keto diet.
