Updated: 08/2022
Sometimes we just need a bit of help to come up with a gift idea for a loved one.

It’s not that easy to choose the best present that’s both unique and useful for a friend or a family member.

That’s why I decided to gather the best gifts for a coffee lover in a list with short reviews and share some cool products that will make a coffee enthusiast happy.

I also made sure to include beginner-friendly present ideas that are great for people who don’t know that much about coffee, but still love having it every day.

Among the entries, you will find fascinating coffee accessories and devices that would impress any coffee snob or geek.

You will also come across other items that would make a perfect birthday or Christmas gift for virtually anyone.

Without further ado, let’s dive in.

The Best Gifts for Coffee Lovers – Top Picks & Their Reviews

My list doesn’t only consist of photos and links to the best gifts you could purchase for a person who loves coffee.

I also made sure to tell you a bit more about each product in its review to help you figure out whether it’s suitable for the person you’re getting it for.

I’ve also included more affordable alternatives to some of the products to make sure you find something that fits your budget.

Note: Before I move on to the products, I should say that it’s always a good idea to give a coffee-loving friend a bag of freshly roasted high-quality coffee beans.

I recommend supporting your local roaster and visiting the small coffee shop near you to get it.

If you don’t know much about coffee, you can always ask the coffee connoisseur there for recommendations.

I’m certain that the person you’re giving it to will be more than happy with such a gift, especially if he or she is passionate about coffee.

With that being said, here are the best gifts one could get for a coffee lover:

1. Coffee Canister by Coffee Gator

Click here to see the current price and more photos on Amazon.

The coffee canister by Coffee Gator is definitely one of the best gifts for a coffee lover.

This airtight container is perfect for storing both ground and whole coffee beans.

Such a canister will slow down the process of oxidation that makes roasted coffee stale. It also has a CO2 release valve that lets freshly roasted coffee degas.

This makes it possible for a passionate coffee enthusiast to enjoy the intrinsic flavor profile of the roasted beans for longer.

Furthermore, it comes with a convenient to use stainless steel spoon and a date tracker on top.

If you’re interested, you can check out my guide on how long coffee beans last, to find out how long it takes for whole and ground coffee beans to go stale.

The Coffee Gator canister also looks great on a kitchen counter, so it makes a perfect birthday or a Christmas present for a person who loves coffee.

2. Digital Coffee Scale With a Timer

Click here to see the current price and more photos on Amazon.

If you’re looking for a gift for someone who loves making coffee, a digital scale with a timer is for sure a top pick.

The one that you see in the photo above is the perfect budget-friendly option, as it costs less than $20.

The digital screen won’t turn off while pouring, and the timer will make it easier for a coffee snob to control the whole process.

To be fair, no matter what coffee brewing device you use, being precise with the coffee-to-water ratio is essential if you want to improve your brew.

Brew guides always give you coffee ratio by weight (usually in grams), not volume. Therefore this scale will make it easier for anyone to follow the instructions precisely.

Having said all of that, the coffee scale is undoubtedly one of the best coffee lover gifts.

Furthermore, it can be used for other purposes, so it’s definitely a useful piece of equipment in every kitchen.

3. Timemore Black Mirror Scale

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.
The Timemore Black Mirror is a bit more expensive than the scale in the previous review.

Nevertheless, its design and overall performance are much better.

It has all that a coffee lover looks for in a scale – precision, responsiveness, accuracy, and cool looks.

Unlike the previous entry – it’s rechargeable.

If you want to check out a full review of the Timemore Chestnut, check out my post where I share my list of the best coffee scales.

There you can find other product recommendations that would make a great gift for anyone who’s into coffee.

Anyway, I own and use a Timemore Black Mirror myself, and I’m quite happy with it.

That’s why I can recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a stylish gift for a coffee lover.

4. AeroPress Coffee Maker Kit

Click here to see the current price and more photos on Amazon.

The Aeropress is a great gift for both beginner and advanced coffee enthusiasts.

The process of using this coffee syringe is quite satisfying and it’s rather easy to brew a great cup of Joe with it, even if you’re not very precise with your brewing technique.

On the other hand, if you’re giving this AeroPress to an advanced coffee connoisseur, he/she can play around with the brewing methods and variables and come up with a new AeroPress recipe.

The Timemore Chestnut G1 Plus Grinder is a great present for a coffee snob that loves sophisticated coffee gear.

This is an impressive hand grinder that apart from its great performance looks quite nice.

There you might find other cool gift ideas for someone who’s just started making pour over coffee at home.

Using freshly ground coffee instead of a bag of pre-ground beans always makes a huge difference in one’s brew.

A compact hand grinder is also a perfect gift for a person who wants to make good coffee while traveling.

If the Timemore Chestnut G1 doesn’t fit your budget, I recommend getting the C2 model, which is another compact hand grinder that looks and works great.

7. Chemex Glass Carafe

Click here to see the current price and more photos on Amazon.

Brewing coffee with a Chemex is definitely something that a coffee snob would love doing.

Especially considering how good the results are.

Nevertheless, even if you’re looking for a gift for someone who doesn’t like experimenting with different brewing devices, the Chemex carafe would still be a great gift.

Its flawless design and great looks always impress my guests when I serve coffee or tea in it.

Still, for me, it’s all about the idea behind the Chemex coffee brewing method and the one-of-a-kind filters that let you enjoy a unique cup of coffee.

9. Zojirushi Thermal Travel Mug

Click here to see the current price and more photos on Amazon.
For those of you who are looking for the best gift for someone who loves good coffee, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Zojirushi thermal travel mug.

It doesn’t leak, it won’t make a mess if you throw it in a backpack, fits a standard car cup holder, and therefore – it’s perfect for travel.

But most importantly – it will keep your coffee hot for hours.

Coffee connoisseurs know that reheating coffee will speed up the process of oxidation (i.e. coffee going stale and unpleasantly tasting).

This is why thermal mugs are big game-changers in the world of daily coffee drinking.

The Zojirushi mug is for sure one of the best thermal travel mugs, and also comes in many colors, so you can pick the one that you like the most.

Thermal mugs are also perfect for keeping your iced drink ice cold throughout a hot summer day.

Overall, they make useful gifts for virtually anyone.

As an alternative to the Zojirushi mug, you can give the Yeti mug as a present instead.

Click here to check out its price and color options on Amazon.

It won’t fit in a car cup holder, but it’s a pretty sturdy mug for everyday use.

It will extend the period of time that it takes for a hot drink to cool off.

That’s why is perfect for busy moms who do many things at once in the morning and who never get to enjoy their coffee warm.

The Yeti mug will make a great difference in this aspect, and will give the joy of having warm coffee until their last sip to whoever you’re giving it to.

10. Hario V60 Stand and Glass Dripper Set

Click here to check out its current price and more photos on Amazon.

You won’t go wrong if you purchase this cool Hario V60 set as a gift for a coffee geek or a beginner coffee enthusiast who’s just diving into the world of coffee.

The Hario V60 dripper is one of the most widely spread devices in the coffee snob community for a reason.

It’s capable of producing one of the best cups of coffee you’ve ever had (especially if you master your pour-over technique).

Having said that, the Hario V60 is often used by not-so-precise coffee drinkers. Initially, they don’t pay that much attention to the variables that affect the coffee’s taste (grind size, ratio, water temperature, pouring technique, etc.). Still, they’re satisfied with how their coffee turns out.

Nevertheless, over time most of them start noticing the impact of their brewing technique on their brew’s flavor, so they start experimenting and mastering their skills (which is quite a bit of fun).

Within this set, a scoop and paper filters are also included, so the person you’re about to give it to will have everything needed at hand.

11. Stojo Collapsible Coffee Mug

Click here to check out its current price and more photos on Amazon.

If you’re looking for a coffee lover’s gift that’s within a $20 budget, one of the best ideas that I can give you is getting a collapsible coffee mug.

You simply fold/collapse it to carry it around in your purse or backpack, and whenever you need to – take it out, and have your coffee in it.

It’s perfect for travel and camping, and it’s quite convenient to use.

It’s also a great, more sustainable alternative to those disposable cups that most people throw away right after using them once.

12. Wacaco Minipresso GR Portable Espresso Machine

Click here to check out its current price and more photos on Amazon.

The Minipresso is another compact device that is perfect for making coffee while camping or traveling.

It’s pretty easy to use it – you just need to add ground beans to the filter basket, hot water to the water tank, and then use the pump.

Doing that, will pressurize and push the water through the ground beans, and consequently – extract them.

It’s a great and affordable gift for a coffee enthusiast who often travels or simply loves to play around with different brewing devices.

It’s worth noting that if you’re a coffee snob, you won’t be satisfied with the Minipresso results, as this device isn’t the best at pulling top-notch espresso shots.

There will be foam instead of crema. Furthermore, the taste won’t be as intense as the one of a shot, made with an espresso machine and a non-pressurized portafilter.

I’d say that the shot, made with the Minipresso, is more similar to the one coming from a Nespresso single-serve pod machine.

So if the coffee lover you’re planning on giving it to doesn’t mind this, the Minipresso is undoubtedly a great present.

Furthermore, you can also check out the Wacaco Minipresso NS that works with Nespresso Original Capsules.

Instead of adding ground coffee, you need to insert a pod from the Original line, add water and press the pump. This way the person you’re giving it to can enjoy Nespresso coffee virtually anywhere.

13. Hario Siphon

Click here to check out its current price and more photos on Amazon.

The Hario Glass siphon is a piece of coffee equipment that most coffee geeks would love to receive as a gift.

It’s a unique brewing device that you can use to make one of the best cups of coffee you’ve ever had.

This is one of those things that coffee lovers want, but won’t really buy for themselves.

More often than not, coffee enthusiasts think that they won’t use such a device that much, or they simply postpone purchasing again and again, as they can’t seem to find the right time to get it.

But they still dream about trying it out.

After all, a true coffee geek would be extremely curious to see what the Hario Siphon is capable of.

This is why the Hario Siphon is one of the best gift ideas for an advanced coffee lover, who loves experimenting with a variety of brewing devices.

14. French Press Coffee Maker by Coffee Gator

Click here to check out its current price and more photos on Amazon.

This cool stainless steel French press makes a great gift for a coffee and a tea lover.

Unlike glass cafetieres, stainless steel ones don’t break easily.

Furthermore, since this one is insulated, it will keep your coffee hot for much longer.

Apart from its cool looks and nice packaging, the French Press by Coffee Gator comes with a tiny coffee canister that can be used for travel.

It truly makes a great gift for virtually anyone.

Related post for more gift ideas: Best French Press Coffee Makers & Reviews.

I couple of people that I know have switched from their Keurig single-serve coffee maker to using a French press.

The brewing process takes a bit more time, but the coffee is truly better.

On top of that, using a French press turns out to be a cheaper and more eco-friendly alternative to using k-cups on a daily basis.

You can also utilize it for cold brewing.

Furthermore, you get to make your brew with coffee of higher quality if you choose to do so.

So giving a French press to a loved one who’s been using a Keurig will improve their chances of having a better daily coffee experience.

Such a cafetière is also perfect for preparing loose leaf tea, so it’s a great gift for a tea lover too.

If you can afford spending a bit more, you can have the French press gift accompanied by a coffee grinder. You can check my post on the best French press grinders for guidance.

15. Yama Glass Cold Drip Tower

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.

The Yama Glass Tower would make an impressive gift for a coffee snob who loves unique or not-so-common brewing devices.

This is a cold drip coffee-making piece of equipment, which is perfect for cold brew coffee lovers.

This is a whole different brewing style than the widely spread full-immersion cold brew method. It’s definitely worth exploring.

The Yama tower itself looks very cool which is why it also serves a decorative purpose in many homes and coffee shops.

16. Oxo Cold Brew Coffee Maker

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.

The Oxo Cold Brew Coffee Maker is another useful device that you can give to a person who loves cold brew coffee (or coffee in general).

It’s pretty convenient to use, compact, and at the same time – affordable.

It comes with a nice decanter which also serves as a container in which you can keep your cold brew concentrate.

Even though you only need a jar and a piece of cheesecloth to make cold brew coffee at home, it does make a huge difference when you use such a user-friendly device instead.

So the Oxo Cold brewer can for sure be considered as one of the top presents for someone who has cold brew coffee daily.

17. HyperChiller Instant Coffee Cooler

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.

If you’re looking for a unique gift for a coffee lover, get the HyperChiller.

This product would turn one’s beverage cold instantly, even if it has just come out of the coffee maker.

It’s a pretty simple device that people don’t think they need until they actually try it out.

It’s also perfect if you want to instantly cool off your soda drink or beer if they aren’t already chilled.

The HyperChiller is a quirky gift, but anyone who’s often making iced coffee or tea will love it for sure.

When you pour hot coffee over the ice it immediately starts melting and instantly dilutes your drink.

This undesired result can actually be avoided if you cool off your hot beverage in this drink chiller in advance.

So I’d definitely buy it as a gift for someone I know who loves iced coffee. It truly is a game-changer.

18. World Atlas Of Coffee Book

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.

The World Atlas of Coffee is my favorite book that I’ve ever received as a birthday gift.

The moment you take it in your hands, you’ll immediately notice that you’re holding a heavy, high-quality book.

I don’t usually judge the book by its cover, but the fabric hardcover of the World Atlas of Coffee and its nice texture definitely makes it stand out.

When it comes to its content, I’ve read it back to back, and while there are some things that I already knew, I learned a lot more about the world of coffee.

This book covers everything, as it says on its cover – “From beans to brewing”.

It gave me a better understanding of the way coffee reaches our homes.

Through its beautiful images, I was walked through the corners of the world where coffee is grown and harvested.

I got a better understanding of how beans are processed, and how that affects the taste of my cup.

I won’t get into more detail, but I can say that the World Atlas of Coffee is one of the best gifts for a coffee lover. You can’t go wrong with it.

The author, James Hoffmann, is rather famous amongst coffee enthusiasts, so if the person you’re giving it to is a coffee geek, he or she will most likely be familiar with his name and reputation.

Even if the person you give it to doesn’t read, he or she will definitely enjoy going through the pages and looking at the photographs this book contains.

Furthermore, it’s a great coffee table book, so it may serve as a decorative piece too.

Another great coffee themed book that I can recommend is “Craft Coffee” by Jessica Easto:

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.

It’s the best beginner-friendly book through which you can learn a lot about coffee brewing devices, essential coffee accessories and why they are important, and how to recognize, choose, and buy good coffee.

The book is well-written and has detailed guides on the use of many pour-over and full immersion coffee brewing devices.

So if I am to purchase a Hario Siphon as a gift to a friend that has never used it, or a French press to a loved one, who’s only used a Keurig, I’d definitely consider giving them the “Craft Coffee” book along with the brewing device.

This way I will make it easier for them to feel more confident when exploring their new piece of coffee equipment.

This book would also be the perfect gift if I simply want to introduce a beginner to the world of coffee. ‘Craft Coffee’ is more affordable than James Hoffmann’s Atlas.

It’s a light read, yet engaging and filled with useful information.

On top of that, it looks pretty nice when placed on a bookshelf or a coffee table.

I have it myself in combination with the Coffee Dictionary.

Overall “Craft Coffee” is undoubtedly another one of the best gifts for a beginner-level coffee lover.

19. Sarcastic coffee mug with a witty saying

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.

Even though I prefer simple minimalist mugs and ceramic cups to have my coffee in, I just can’t go over this type of sarcastic mugs that have funny sayings on them.

They are great conversation starters in an office environment, so they make a perfect secret Santa gift.

At home, when I see the line that’s printed on my sarcastic mug, my day brightens up and makes me realize that everything is much simpler than I sometimes make it to be.

I have a whole post on top funny sarcastic coffee mugs, so you can visit the link to see more than 30 funny mug ideas that may suit the personality of the person you’re looking to buy a present for.

There you will find photos of a great birthday, Christmas, father’s, mother’s day funny mugs that would all make a great gift.

21. Coffee Infographic Wall Poster

This high-quality wall poster has a well-made infographic of the espresso-based coffee drinks printed on it.

It’s sturdy and it’s one of the best decor gifts that you can give to a coffee lover. It will look well in the kitchen or as a coffee bar decoration.

Another affordable gift idea for someone who’s passionate about coffee, is a coffee-themed calendar.

20. FoodVille Milk Frother/Drink Mixer

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.
The milk frother is a great beginner-friendly coffee accessory and a perfect gift for a coffee lover who enjoys having coffee with milk and other condiments.

It’s also ideal for mixing bulletproof coffee drinks.

The FoodVille milk frother is rechargeable and it’s great for making Dalgona whipped coffee, greek frappes and other instagrammable drinks, such as this cool-looking matcha latte:

Many of the recipes that I’ve posted here on the Woke Lark I’ve made with this kind of a drink mixer, as it’s much more affordable and accessible to households compared to espresso machines with steam wands.

You can actually get a battery-operated milk frother (click the link to check it out on Amazon) as a present instead of a rechargeable one.

It performs excellently too, and will definitely be used on a daily basis by the person you’re giving it to.

21. Breville Barista Express Home Espresso Machine

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.

The Breville Barista Express BES870XL is the best gift for a coffee lover who wants to become a home barista and make impressive espresso-based drinks.

It is expensive, especially compared to all of the other entries on this list, but I figured that some of you might consider it as an option (and there are quite a few reasons why you should).

It’s a great entry-level espresso machine that comes with both a pressurized and a non-pressurized portafilter.

It has a built-in grinder and a steam wand that you can use to steam milk and create microfoam for cappuccinos and beautiful latte art.

It also comes with a tamper, so by getting it, you will own everything one needs to start making good espresso at home.

The Breville Barista Express BES870XL also makes a great housewarming present, so I couldn’t leave it out of my coffee lover gifts post.

22. NEO by Flair: An affordable manual espresso maker

Click here to check out its price and more photos on Amazon.

This high-quality lever espresso machine by Flair is the perfect gift for a coffee lover who wants to start making espresso shots at home.

Buying a full-blown espresso machine is quite expensive, but with this lever coffee maker, you can pull outstanding espressos that compare to those from a coffee shop.

The NEO by Flair is also a perfect addition to the coffee arsenal of an espresso lover who loves camping and travels often. If accompanied with a high quality grinder, it can produce exceptional shots virtually anywhere you go.

The thing is that the person you’re giving it to should be willing to play around with their technique. There is definitely a learning curve, so keep this in mind when deciding whether the NEO is an adequate choice.

The Flair Espresso Pro 2 deserves a mention in this gift guide as well.

Click here to check out its price on Amazon.

If you’re looking for a present for a really passionate coffee lover that truly cares about espresso extraction, go for the PRO Flair model.

The upgrades in its design makes it easy for an advanced coffee geek to pull the best flavors and aromas out of their coffee beans.

It’s a bit more expensive, but if you have the budget, getting the Flair PRO 2 will undoubtedly make your beloved coffee connoisseur more than happy.
